I am an accomplished musician from the small town of Valparaiso, IN. I have been teaching violin since I was 12 at an established Suzuki violin studio, and have continued to teach throughout my career.
Erika M. has over 22 years of music experience in the Valparaiso area.
Erika M. is proficient in and teaches Orchestral Lessons .Formal Education:
Erika attended Ball State University on a full ride scholarship to become a violin performance major, but unfortunately her adoptive elderly parents fell ill and she made the decision to postpone her degree and move home to be closer to them.
Private Education:
Erika began studying the Suzuki violin method in 1994 with Linda Lager and went on to study violin with Tammie Ringas, Cyrus Forough, Dr. Andrew Smith, Matthew Mantell, and Prof. Anna Vayman.
Performing Experience:
Erika was accepted into the Northwest Indiana Symphony at age 9, and continued her career as assistant first violin for 2 seasons and concertmaster for one. She has played with the LaPorte Symphony orchestra from 2006-present.
Experience Teaching:
Erika began teaching in 2003 at the Northwest Indiana Suzuki School teaching violin and cello to fellow students. She then continued teaching at various studios across Northwest Indiana, such as Chantal's Music, Valparaiso High School, Valparaiso University, and HGS Music.
