Hi, my name is Yunkyo and I am a vocal teacher from Korea. I have been a student of music for over 20 years. My musical influences include classical opera and sacred choral music, and I also enjoy helping students grow in their musical journey. My teaching style can best be described as patient, clear, and empathetic. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe in teaching at the student’s level with kindness and emotional connection. In my lessons, you can expect to learn vocal techniques, musical expression, and how to connect with music more deeply. I like to tell my students that music is not just about technique, but also about expressing who you are. My favorite thing about teaching is watching students gain confidence and joy through music. One of my most meaningful teaching experiences was working with visually impaired students, using sound and touch to guide them. My students love that I listen carefully and adapt lessons to their individual needs. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach piano and beginner music theory. My approach as a teacher is to create a positive, student-centered learning environment. Recently, one of my students who lives in California has been taking online vocal lessons with me for about a year. During that time, he has made remarkable progress in his vocal skills. He even advanced to the semi-finals of a major vocal competition, which was a great achievement for both of us. Performance Experience: I have sung leading and supporting roles in operas such as La Bohème, La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Don Giovanni, and Rigoletto. I also performed as a soloist in Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Haydn’s The Creation, Schubert’s Mass in G, and Handel’s Messiah. Work Experience: I have over 10 years of experience teaching voice and piano. I have worked as a choir member in the Yongin City Choir and the Seoul Oratorio Choir in Korea. Currently, I teach private lessons online, including students with special needs. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Music from Sejong University, Seoul, Korea Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance at Stephen F.
