About Me
Hello! My name is Rodrigo, and I’m a composer and educator based in Miami. I specialize in orchestral, chamber, electro-acoustic, electronic, and experimental music, and I’m currently in the final year of my Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Frost School of Music. My academic background is rooted in Composition and Theory, and I also bring extensive training in Classical Guitar and Instrumental Conducting. In addition to guitar, I’m classically trained in piano and enjoy exploring a variety of other instruments, including the Greek bouzouki, Mexican vihuela, Cuban tres, accordion, and harmonica. I currently teach a wide range of music subjects—including Music Theory and Composition, Ear Training, Classical Guitar, Conducting, Music History, and Music Appreciation—across four campuses of Miami Dade College. Beyond music, I have a deep passion for Jungian psychology, philosophy, history, art cinema, and literature. I also enjoy practicing yoga and meditation, as well as creating video essays and engaging in video editing—especially on musical topics. When I’m not teaching or composing, you’ll often find me gardening or enjoying peaceful days at the beach with my son. If you're interested in exploring the vast and inspiring world of music together—whether through analysis, performance, creativity, or history—I warmly invite you to reach out. Let’s begin a meaningful journey through sound, thought, and expression.
