Hi, my name is Sergio, and I’m from Colombia. I’ve been studying music for over 13 years, and it’s been an incredible journey shaped by my love for classical music and acoustic song styles. These influences continue to inspire both my performances and my teaching. As a teacher, I would describe myself as passionate and dedicated. I truly enjoy watching my students grow and improve, and I’m always thinking about how I can support them in reaching their goals. I believe in giving my students strong foundational tools, but also encouraging them to develop their own musical voice and creativity. In my lessons, you can expect to learn solid technique, musical expression, and how to connect emotionally with the pieces you play. I like to tell my students that every mistake is just a step toward mastery—don’t be afraid to try. My favorite thing about teaching is trying different ways to achieve good results. My favorite performance was in Brazil, playing Respighi’s Pines of Rome. I loved the huge sound of the orchestra and how we lifted the ground with the music. My students love that I bring positive energy and patience to every lesson, and that I adapt my approach to fit their learning style. I primarily teach violin, but I can also teach basic guitar—I like to play songs.
