Hello! I’m so excited to share my love of music with you. I have over 30 years of experience teaching music to elementary and middle school students, as well as working in private music academies. Music has always been a big part of my life, and I love helping students discover the joy and creativity that music can bring. I speak and write fluently in both English and Spanish, and I enjoy connecting with students from all backgrounds. Private Education:
My musical journey began with private guitar lessons at “Los Andinos” in Puerto Rico, followed by piano, voice, and guitar studies at the renowned Escuela Libre de Música Ernesto Ramos Antonini. I also received early theater training through a private institution, which helped shape my stage presence and creativity from a young age.
Performing Experience:
Early in my career, I had the opportunity to record and perform with major studio artists, which gave me valuable professional stage and studio experience. These early years helped shape my musicianship and deepened my understanding of performance at a professional level. With over 30 years in the music field, I’ve performed in various settings—from studio sessions to live ensemble and solo performances. My background includes vocal and instrumental work across multiple genres, which I now integrate into my teaching and private instruction. In addition to performance, I’ve created and directed school-based programs such as marching bands, choirs, ukulele and recorder ensembles, and musical theatre productions—many of which involved public performances, community events, and student showcases. Being fluent in both English and Spanish has allowed me to collaborate and perform with a wide range of musicians and connect with diverse audiences and students alike.
Experience Teaching:
With over 30 years of experience in music education and a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, I’ve dedicated my career to inspiring students through the power of music. After recording with major studio artists early in my career, I discovered that my true passion lies in teaching. I’ve taught in a wide range of school settings, working with children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. My experience includes creating and leading innovative music programs, such as the school’s first-ever marching band, as well as after-school groups like choir, ukulele club, recorder ensemble, and musical theatre. Beyond the classroom, I offer private lessons in voice and various instruments, tailoring each session to fit the individual needs and goals of my students. Being fluent in both English and Spanish has allowed me to build strong connections with students and families, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
