About Me
Hi, my name is Gerard and I am a bass trombone player from Houston, TX. I have been a student of music for 25 years. My musical influences include video game music and movie music. I also enjoy jazz and Latin music. My favorite performance was seeing Trombone Shorty in NYC. My teaching style can best be described as motivating and positive. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying "get the job done" and "learn to have fun". My students love that I am passionate about music history and culture. In my lessons, you can expect to learn lip slurs, proper tonguing, and moving those fingers or hands. I like to tell my students that we can make music fun while learning the fundamentals. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing students grow month by month. I primarily teach tenor and bass trombone, but I can also teach trumpet and tuba. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
