Hunter C.

Hi, my name is Hunter and I am a guitarist from Reno, Nevada. I have been a student of music for 10 years. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach bass guitar. I have the most experience teaching entry to intermediate level guitarists, but I can also accommodate students with more advanced needs. My musical influences include rock, jazz, blues, and whatever else I can get my hands on. My teaching style is focused on instilling a strong grasp on fundamentals in order to build improvisational and compositional competency. Through my teaching I aim to build my students' confidence and to help them realize their own musical voice. In my lessons, you can expect to learn everything from the absolute basics entry-level reading, proper technique, basic harmony to more advanced concepts. I like to tell my students that music is a form of communication just the same as any other form of art, and that learning music is a bit more like learning a language than learning math. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students become artists of their own as well as bringing a little more music into the world. My students appreciate that I adapt to their musical preferences and teach in a way that would allow them to get out and play whatever those may be quickly.
