I began playing drums at the church camp where I worked as a teenager. Initially, it was mainly something I did for fun. But As I got older, I fell in love with drums and music, and I started taking it seriously in my early 20s. Since then, I've played in several bands, recorded an ep with one of them, and recorded few other tracks I’ve played on with a reggae band from salt lake. In 2023 I began teaching and now, I’ve taught drums at the Music Academy of Utah and Imagine Music for the better part of two years now. I love inspiring and spreading my love for drums and teaching allows me to do all that and more.

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
My goal is to get to know you as a student and a person; learn what made you want to play the drums, who your favorite drummers are and hear you and your parents’ (if applicable) goals. My central philosophy is an acronym I use is to show you what it takes to PLAY DRUMS. Drumming isn’t always easy, and it takes a lot of work, but anyone can do it, as long as remember to PLAY—Practice, Learn and Apply Yourself. Focused and consistent practice are the keys. I then try to have you playing your first drum beat by the end of the first lesson. Most students do it, and whether you’re rocking out or not quite there yet, that’s fine. We all learn at our own rate. I’ll give you different exercises to work on to get you on the road to becoming the drummer you want to be!
Formal Education:
I was mostly self-taught for the first half of my drumming career. Received some guidance in church and at camp as a teen, and had some teaching from various successful drummers along the way.
Private Education:
I started taking lessons in the DrumMantra program, which is led by a fantastic jazz drummer named Rich Stitzel. I also had some private lessons from the best drummer I’ve ever met, Jeff West.
Performing Experience:
Played in several gigging bands over the last 5 years. Recorded an album with a rock band called Drumbledore and the Groove Wizards in 2023 (available on all platforms)
Experience Teaching:
One year at the Music Academy of Utah, and another year at Imagine Music in Ogden, UT
